SARAWAK'S PETROLEUM MUSEUM FOR EXTRA KNOWLEDGE

PETROLEUM MUSEUM

Welcome to Cultural Village

Petroleum Museum Sarawak is located on a hilltop overlooking Miri town called Canada Hill or Bukit Tenaga. The primary fascination here is Miri's first oil very much, nicknamed The Grand Old Lady which struck oil on 22nd December 1910. The oil derrick and 'gesturing jackass' are situated before the gallery and frame the centerpiece of an outside show highlighting a chronicled course of events of Sarawak's oil industry.

The historical center itself is a cutting edge configuration, finished in 2005. Being incompletely financed by Petronas, Malaysia's goliath oil organization, it bears some likeness to the Petrosains Museum in KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, however not exactly of a similar elevated expectation. One of the more prominent shows is the quake test system where you sit inside a Perodua auto while it gets shocked and shaken up like it would in a genuine seismic tremor. Having survived a noteworthy quake myself it brought back upsetting recollections. Most of the other exhibits are of the static sort rather than fun or interactive but are informative all the same. Most of the other exhibits are of the static sort rather than fun or interactive but are informative all the same.

Petroleum Museum Sarawak is a historical place that let you know about the process of petroleum and also got a chance to try the feeling of earthquake using earthquake simulator.
