PENANG'S MEMORABLE PLACE TO VIEW BACK
PENANG ISLAMIC MUSEUM
Welcome to Penang Islamic Museum
The Penang Islamic Museum houses a presentation specifying the part and commitment of Malay pioneers in the development and spread of Islam in Penang and Malaysia. Set on Armenian Street, the exhibition likewise gives points of interest on key 19th and early 20th-century open figures and their social impact on Penang.
A protector of Acheh against the Dutch, Syed Alatas offered help to the Acehnese resistance as guns and his chateau was a stealthy base. He had two spouses: the first was of Malay plunge, while his second (little girl of an individual from the Khoo Kongsi) managed him an association with the Khoo Kongsi. In his time Syed Alatas was the pioneer of the Red Flag mystery society (of which Khoo Kongsi was a piece of) which battled against the White Flag society in the Penang Riots of 1867.
Penang Islamic Museum is perhaps Penang’s memorable place to view back the history. The chateau stays one of only a handful couple of structures from that period in Penang with Islamic components in its engineering. Rebuilding take a shot at the house was completed in 1996 and it was granted a Best Project grant in 1999 by Badan Warisan Malaysia.
