IPOH'S BEST MEMORABLE PLACE TO HAVE A LOOK
KELLIE'S CASTLE
Welcome to Kellie's Castle
The Kellie's Castle was meant to be the center of the wealthy colonial planters and administrators to socialize. The mansion was built with a six storey tower, magnificent columns and even a wine cellar. There was also to be a rooftop courtyard for holding parties and an elevator which was at that time, the first in the country of Malaysia. Though plans were grand and full of luxury, the building was never completed but is a good place to visit.
Kellie's Castle is a castle situated in Batu Gajah, Kinta District, Perak, Malaysia. The incomplete, demolished manor, was worked by a Scottish grower named William Kellie Smith. As per contrasting records, it was either a present for his better half or a home for his child. Kellie's Castle is arranged next to the Raya River (Sungai Raya), which is a tributary to the Kinta River.
Kellie's Castle is perhaps Batu Gajah’s best known memorable building to have a look at the structure of the building and the environment around the building.
